A Canna goose laid her eggs and gave birth Wednesday to six goslings right on Game Fish and Park’s property.
Chad Tussing, Director of The Outdoor Campus West says the goose has been nesting her eggs near the main bridge for almost a month. The goslings made their first exploration in the pond Thursday with the goose and gander not far behind.
Tussing says seeing the little ones confirm that Spring has truly sprung.
“It’s a great opportunity for us to teach about how the cycle of life happens with animals and also how it’s best to let Mother Nature raise the little ones,” said Tussing.
Tussing says it’s ironic the goose gave birth right around Mother’s Day.
