Despite the struggle the national beef industry is facing some ranchers in the state say beef is still what’s for dinner. Rancher Rick Fox says U.S beef is fairly safe.
He says the recent mad cow outbreak could have a negative affect on ranchers down the line but for now, he’s not worried.
“I think the product is more likely 100% safe but at the same time you want to have a good product out there at all times and you want to be upfront with the customers,’ said Fox.
Fox says raw product producers have very little control once the product leaves the ranch and heads to the next phase of the industry.
