A KOTA Territory power company sparks an interest in electric technology.
Black Hills Power launched its electric vehicle project Thursday at an electro– technology expo in Rapid City. The company will experiment with two Chevy Volts to gain first–hand experience on electric technology and pass it on to its customers.
“We just want people to think about electricity,” said Jason Ketchum of Black Hills Corporation. “It’s something people tend to forget about. They use it every day and every moment of their lives. So we believe it’s a natural transfer to transportation.”
The electric vehicle can be plugged in and charged, as well as, powered by solar power, wind and even natural gas. If the vehicles become popular in KOTA Territory, Black Hills Power plans to build charging stations in the future.
