The United Way of the Black Hills is more than half–way toward its fundraising goal for the year. It has collected 52% of the $2.3 million needed to help fund 51 area organizations.
Girl Scouts–Dakota Horizon is one of those organizations. It operates in four areas of the Black Hills. Girl Scouts–Dakota Horizon helps girls discover who they are while connecting them with peers and mentors in their community.
“With United Way funds, it allows every girl that wants to be a part of girl scouting to join,” said SW District Director Marsha Frericks. “With financial aid we can allow any girl in the Black Hills area, South West district to do that.”
The United Way donates nearly $54,000 annually to Girl Scouts– Dakota Horizons.
