Bikers travel around the Black Hills for charity

They’re bad to the bone but on Sunday dozens of bikers inKOTATerritoryare did a little good for charity.

More than 25 people took their motorcycles on a ride, stopping in five parts of theBlack Hills, to support the Rushmore Rotary Club’s first annual Tikes and Bike’s Charity Ride.  Sunday’s Poker Run event helps the Feeding South Dakota organization fight hunger through its BackPack Program.

The program gives students in need a backpack worth of food to ensure they won’t go hungry each weekend. Rotary club members say you don’t have to ride a motorcycle to help out.

“You can support a child with their food every week during the school year for about $145 and I’m sure they’ll be more than happy to take donations; It’s a very important program,” said Carmen, who is a rotary club member.

If you would like to donate to the BackPack Program you can contact Feeding South Dakota at (605) 348-2689.
