The way things are going, the project’s executive director says he is optimistic about an October first opening.
It’s new, its exciting,” said John Seward, Main Street Square’s executive director. “So a lot of people have been contacting us about what they can do in the square to work with us. So it’s a lot of collaboration.”
Some of this year’s scheduled events include: A beer fest and “scare in the square” Halloween celebration in October. The grand opening with a tree lighting and parade of lights will take place on November 26th.
The 6.5 million dollar project is expected to draw people downtown and boost local business.
