People across the nation unite today to celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the adversities he had to overcome in the fight for civil rights.
While some used the holiday as a day off from work, others in KOTA Territory came together to celebrate the man who changed the lives of so many.
There was singing, laughter, applause and even the holding of hands. Men, women, boys and girls of all nationalities, joined together at the Rushmore Plaza Holiday Inn on Monday, to help fulfill Dr. King’s dream.
“I thought it was uplifting. I was encouraged by the number of people as they say are from all walks of life,” said Event Attendee, Nancy May.
People from all walks of life unified in one room, on one accord: to fulfill the vision one man had 46 –years ago.
Dr. King was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee in 1968. On Saturday, he would have turned 82 – years old.
